What the 5-Year / 100,000-Mile Warranty Covers
This is the one that separates bus builders. Most “structural” warranties stop at the steel. HLE’s Revision 1 document also names the electrical it installs and the paint it applies — the two things most likely to generate a service call in years two through five.
Why the floor gets its own term: the PerformMAX 500 composite subfloor doesn’t absorb water, so it can’t rot the way plywood does. HLE is the only shuttle bus manufacturer using it, and the 7-year, unlimited-mile coverage is the longest floor warranty in the market.

How a Warranty Repair Works When You Buy From BRBS

2. We line up the shop
A qualified service shop near you, or your own fleet shop if you have one. Even buyers an hour from a bus dealer shouldn’t drive an hour for a seal.
3. We handle approval
BRBS submits the claim to HLE and gets the authorization. You don’t chase the factory.
4. Back on the road
Parts and reasonable labor at no charge for the full term. If a shop can’t handle it, HLE’s factory service team gets involved directly.

Who do I call for a warranty repair?
Call BRBS first — (423) 720-3055. We set up the repair with a qualified shop near you (or your own shop, if you have one), handle the approval with HLE, and keep the paperwork moving. You don’t drive the bus to Tennessee or Indiana for warranty work. For anything a local shop can’t handle, HLE’s factory service team gets involved directly.
Does the warranty prorate as the bus ages?
No. Coverage in year five is worth exactly what it was on day one — no depreciation schedule, no sliding scale. Several competitors publish proration tables that step coverage down to 50% and then 25%. Read that table on any quote you’re comparing against.
What does “7 years, unlimited miles” on the subfloor actually require of me?
One thing: inspect and maintain the roof, window, door, and body sealants at least every six months and keep dated records. The maintenance plan that ships with every HLE bus lays out the schedule. Do that and material or installation defects that lead to rot or water damage are covered into year seven.
Is the chassis covered by HLE?
The chassis is covered by its own manufacturer — Ford, Chevrolet, International, or Freightliner — through their dealer networks, which is usually more convenient than a bus-specific shop. HLE’s 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper term covers the bus body and HLE-installed equipment on top of that.
What comes with the bus at delivery?
A complete owner’s manual and a bus-specific maintenance plan, plus the warranty documents. Most shuttle buyers never get that level of documentation. We walk through it with you at delivery.
Does a used or refurbished HLE bus have a warranty?
Factory refurbishment work carries a 2-year warranty on the work performed, on top of whatever chassis coverage remains. Used units are sold with whatever original coverage is still in force; we tell you exactly what that is before you buy.
