HLE Kavlyr — Ford F-550 / F-600
Up to 35 passengers or 10 wheelchair positions, gas or diesel, 19,550–22,000 lb GVWR. The paratransit and campus-loop workhorse for agencies that need more than a cutaway van chassis without going to medium-duty iron.

Municipal fleets, transit agencies, counties, universities, and state contracts. We answer the solicitation the way your evaluation committee reads it — spec compliance, Altoona documentation, Buy America position, and a quote your board can approve.
Send us the solicitation. You get a compliance matrix against your specification — meets, exceeds, or exception with the reason — not a brochure and a price. If the spec was written around another builder’s numbers, we say so up front.
The HLE Mavryk passed the current FTA 7-year/200,000-mile test (report 2024-04): 82.6 aggregate, 100% reliability, 98% safety, 97% structural integrity, 53.81 unscheduled-maintenance hours against a 125-hour allowance. The full report is public and we send it with the bid.
Buy America under 49 CFR 661 is decided by the specific configuration and components on the bus you’re buying. HLE certifies compliance in writing at quote, for that bus on that bid, with the pre-award and post-award audit certifications your agency needs. Be skeptical of any builder who answers it with a blanket percentage.
Every one is built to order, so the capacity and layout flex to your operation — these are the right starting points.

Up to 35 passengers or 10 wheelchair positions, gas or diesel, 19,550–22,000 lb GVWR. The paratransit and campus-loop workhorse for agencies that need more than a cutaway van chassis without going to medium-duty iron.

Up to 26 passengers or 7 wheelchair positions on the chassis agencies already service. The model with the published Altoona pass. 14-passenger configurations run without a CDL.

Up to 42 passengers or 11 wheelchair positions, 25,850–33,000 lb GVWR, for fixed-route, campus, and high-capacity ADA service.
Blue Ridge Bus Sales is registered in SAM.gov, holds a Tennessee motor vehicle dealer license, and is an active vendor in Kentucky eProcurement with a current Commonwealth of Kentucky state fleet contract through the Office of Fleet Management. If your agency can buy off an existing state contract or cooperative, we tell you which one and how.
High Level Enterprises holds state transit contracts in Washington (WSDOT), Oregon, and Minnesota, publishes full dimensional and chassis specifications for all four platforms, 133 filterable floor plans, and its warranty terms and Altoona results — so a specification written from HLE numbers is a specification other builders have to answer to. All four models are FMVSS compliant.
Section 5310, 5311, and 5339 purchases, board-resolution leases, and grant-funded buys are normal business here. We match the spec to the funding requirements before you commit, and we deliver nationwide — most agency buses are professionally driven to your yard with the delivery built into the quoted price.
Yes — per order, in writing, at quote. HLE certifies the specific configuration on your bid under 49 CFR Part 661, including pre-award and post-award audit certifications when the solicitation calls for them. HLE has met Buy America requirements on every project that carried them. We don’t quote a blanket domestic-content percentage, because no manufacturer can do that honestly for a bus that hasn’t been configured yet.
The Mavryk passed the current FTA Altoona 7-year/200,000-mile durability test (report 2024-04, public on the Penn State FTA database). The Strykr is in testing now; the Kavlyr is being built for the test track. All four models are FMVSS compliant. If your solicitation requires an Altoona report, the Mavryk is the model to spec — and we can tell you exactly which report number and year covers the bus we’re quoting, which is the question the regulation actually asks you to answer.
Yes. We respond to municipal, county, transit-agency, university, and state solicitations. Send the solicitation early; the question-and-answer window is usually the only chance to fix a spec that accidentally excludes a compliant bus.
Yes — nationwide. Our home lot is Greeneville, TN, with regional sales managers in Knoxville and Greensboro, NC, and active work in Kentucky, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, and West Virginia. Delivery is typically built into the quoted price.
Three warranties, none of which prorate: 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper; 5-year/100,000-mile body and conversion (structure, HLE electrical, HLE paint workmanship); 7-year/unlimited-mile PerformMAX 500 subfloor. Details and the manufacturer’s documents are on our warranty page.
HLE’s typical build is 90–120 days from order; the 2026 average is 92 days. If your funding has to be obligated or the bus delivered by a fiscal-year date, tell us the date and we’ll work backward with the factory — and check in-stock units, which can deliver in days.
Riders, routes, wheelchair needs, timeline — five minutes of detail gets you a real recommendation and real numbers, not a brochure blast.
Prefer the phone? (423) 720-3055 — ask for the rep covering your area.
Send us the solicitation, the spec, or just the passenger count and due date — we’ll tell you within a business day whether we can meet it and what the compliance matrix will look like.
Thanks for reaching out. A member of the BRBS team will contact you shortly — usually within the hour during business hours, or first thing the next business day.
Whether you know exactly what you need or you’re just kicking tires, we’ll listen first and quote second.
