Good Chassis, Tired Body? Have HLE Rebuild It.
A shuttle bus with a sound chassis doesn't have to be replaced. High Level Enterprises runs a factory refurbishment program at its Wakarusa, Indiana plant: the body is stripped back to the steel, damaged framing is cut out and replaced, the underside is coated, and the bus is rebuilt with the same materials that go into a new HLE bus — including the 5/8" PerformMAX 500 composite subfloor. Seats are rebuilt and reupholstered. HVAC is rebuilt and leak-tested by the system manufacturer. Panels, windows, and the roof are replaced where they need it, never patched. It comes back painted or wrapped, and it runs the same rain booth as a new build before it leaves.
The work carries a 2-year warranty, on top of whatever chassis coverage remains. And because there's no waiting on chassis allocation, a refurbishment is usually faster than a new build. HLE has put a rebuilt body back on a chassis with 345,000 miles on it.

What do you buy?
Shuttle buses, church buses, mini buses, and wheelchair vans, roughly 2010 and newer, running or not. Ford E-350/E-450, Chevrolet 3500/4500, Transit, ProMaster, Pacifica, Sienna, and the cutaway bodies that ride on them. If it carried passengers for an organization, send it.
Trade or sell outright?
Either. A trade toward a new HLE shuttle bus or FR Conversions van usually nets you the most, because it comes off the top of the new vehicle. If you’re not replacing it, we’ll buy it outright and pick it up.
How fast is the offer?
A written offer within one business day of the form, firmed up the same day you send photos. Pickup is usually inside a week once the title is in hand.
Do you handle the title and paperwork?
Yes. We handle the title transfer, bill of sale, and odometer disclosure. If a lender holds the title, we pay them directly and send you the balance.
Can my old bus be rebuilt instead of replaced?
Often, yes. If the chassis is sound, HLE’s factory refurbishment program strips the body to steel and rebuilds it with new-bus materials — new PerformMAX 500 subfloor, rebuilt seats and HVAC, new panels and roof where needed — with a 2-year warranty on the work. Even better. Lift-equipped units and rear-entry vans are in steady demand from the same churches, senior communities, and transport operators we sell to. Tell us the lift make and whether it works.
